There is a need to have a big event to shine a light on our public school music programs in light of cuts to grade 7 band programs in B.C, proposed cuts in Kamloops B.C and difficulties coming, it appears in the Toronto School District. 500 Skyboards will be going up through August in support of music education of our youth across Metro Vancouver. Once we see it coming together, (after 100 go up), a big music festival will be planned for September in the parks of Vancouver. Al participating bands will be invited to come and perform. Of course not all will be able to so if we get 100, 50 or even 25 it will be quite the event. Headliners in the music industry will be invited Michael Buble, Bryan Adams, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and maybe even Celine Dion. The platforms of sky train will transform into musical stages for everyone to come and gather and perform, every age group, and type of group who wants to come and support the cause. strikeuptheband@warfleetpress.com
